I purchased the Mule in 2024 and have used it for training. The bag's very well built and the zipper/velcro design is well thought-out and sturdy. I have no doubt the bag will be durable and will last a long time. Likewise, the service has been great from ONUS. I made a mistake while ordering and KayLee was super-helpful in fixing my mistake and getting me the right product. I'll gladly order from ONUS again and wholeheartedly recommend this bag!
This bag works perfectly on my Exo Mountain Gear K4 5000. Form factor acts just like a boned out meat bag. I was able to fill it with a bag and a half of unwashed pea gravel. I just lined the bag with a couple of contractor bags to keep the Mule bag clean. I'm not sure exactly what the bag and fill weigh exactly, but on my K4 frame with a Crib Load Panel my ruck weighs 77 lbs.
My buddy saw it and immediately ordered one as well. The color that he ordered was actually out of stock and the guy at Onus gave him a call immediately and told him that the color had just run out but the website hadn't updated yet. He apologized, told him he would have to wait a whole week (lol) and offered to refund his shipping. My buddy said that it was ok and no worries. Onus quick shipped one anyway and he ended up receiving it in about the same time. That's service!
I heard about the mule on a podcast and after sorting between the “honest training” I thought I heard them say vs “Onus training” it actually was I had finally found just what I was looking for to up my training. Using other forms of weight for pack training always seemed like it was wearing out my pack carrying items it was designed for (dumbbells). The mule is perfect for filling up strapping to your pack just like it was a game bag full of meat and putting in some miles. I have not only used mine for pack training but find myself using it around the home gym for a plethora of sand bag like movements. I have used it so much that I think it is time to up my game and move onto the OX.
This has been an awesome addition to my training regiment. The Mule is very high quality, I have used it for about 8 months now and absolutely love it. Would 100% recommend the mule.
The Mule is clearly well-built. Great closure, materials, stitching and workmanship. I believe it’ll last a long time. Likewise, I made a mistake when I ordered and KayLee was super helpful in sorting my error - I really appreciate the great customer service!
